  • Xanga is Like Scrapbooking

I know that sounds odd, but it's true.  Both have a niche "market" in that they only appeal to a specific group of people.  I for instance, am not much on writing.  I'm not horrible at it, but truthfully I don't enjoy the time and effort I have to expend in order to accomplish what I consider to be a worthy post.  Which is why I don't do much blogging.  That and the fact that I'm lazy.

Why bring this up?  Well, I've found something that works MUCH better for me than Xanga, and I anticipate blogging less (hard to imagine, I know!) due to my new addiction.  What is this addiction?  Facebook.com.  If you haven't checked it out, you should!  It's soooooooooooo much easier than Xanga or MySpace!  It's a private online community that is no-maintenance and very controlled.  When I first heard about Facebook I assumed that meant it would be very difficult to connect with people, but not so!  I have reconnected with a number of people already and find more each day.  The way it works is fascinating to me and I find myself logging in multiple times each day.  I told you I was addicted!

Anyway, I'm not doing anything drastic like quitting Xanga, but I thought I'd let ya'll know about Facebook in case you were interested in joining in on the fun!  If you already have a Facebook account, make sure you add me as a friend!

I have a friend who really loves Facebook. I went there (or tried) once, but stopped when I had to register to go further. Maybe I should just do it.

LOVE facebook!! I think it's so funny that you and I are Facebook friends, but not Suze. She definitely needs to sign up, don't you think?!

BTW, I also don't update my Xanga much because it takes a lot of effort for me to write something worthwhile. Most of the time I just don't have the energy/creativity and my life is really quite boring. I tend to save Xanga for big news on my kids.

Ouch - that's you (and Mary) twisting my arm...

I just can't do it. I too like Facebook, but Xanga is more focused on writing and that's what I like about it. I also like Xanga is a lot smaller. Don't forget to come back and update us Xangans occasionally! :)

Maybe I'll try - one of these days.  Don't leave us hangin'!

Yeah!! Facebook is the way! I agree it's easy to just write a few sentences & not have to think a lot about what you're saying. I like how easy it is to upload pictures & share those.

ryc: I so agree with you! I was really surprised too that everyone said C. I have a real problem with whoever they are talking with hearing me pee! Since I try to reach out to these ladies, wouldn't it be kind of me to not flush while they are talking? Besides, like you said, I don't want their husband to hear me pee!

Isn't facebook great? I do agree though with MeLissa about xanga being more personal, and it is fun to write a "real" blog once in a while. I love the convenience and ease of facebook though for just keeping up with what's happening in peoples' lives. I'm glad you're on there! It's been fun seeing your pictures. :)
